With Inquadra (which means “frame” in English), visiting the National Gallery of Umbria and Perugia will be a unique experience.
This APP makes it possible to literally “enter” the frescoes in the Farnese Room and discover the history of the people represented in the works, as well as anecdotes and interesting information about the scenic and decorative elements.
Once the app has been launched, the user just needs to “frame” the fresco with his or her mobile device to get a description, interesting information, anecdotes, and artistic and historic references.
The most interesting elements of the work are highlighted by coloured icons depending on the type (people, historic details, decorations outside the picture) and more information can be provided by simply clicking on the desired point.
The information is presented with texts and audios both in Italian and English.
This first release can be used for the four frescoes of Room 18, which have undergone an in-depth historic-artistic study that through the rereading of the frescoes of the four walls has uncovered a new iconographic attribution of the immortalised persons found therein.
